Personally, I highly recommend that people not rent a car unless they seriously plan to tour Tampa/St. Pete. The hotel is located on the trolley route which is through downtown and about 2 miles from Ybor City. It is in a nice part of town and safe. The cost is $2.00 or you can buy a three day weekend pass for $12.00 (unlimited rides) at the concierge desk at the Host Hotel. Also it will forgo parking fees in Ybor City. Although there is a parking garage. But parking will run you between $5.00 and $10.00 for a Friday or Saturday night.If you drive your car, the hotel offers valet parking for $18 USD daily.
